Description
*Simple-to-use, compact and accurate - pays for itself by reducing harmful battery waste*Works together with virtually all replaceable battery types; alkaline, lithium, button, 1.5V - 12V*Fits battery sizes AAA - D, 12V, 9V, camera, watch & hearing aid batteries; 2.5 - 120mA*Simple-to-read meter shows battery strength instantly - no extra guessing*Thumb-slide caliper adjusts for battery size; tester requires no internal batteryThe average family spends hundreds-of-dollars a year on expensive replacement batteries for the dozens and dozens of battery-powered devices in their home. Unfortunately, many of those batteries are wasted just for the reason that you can't distinguish between 'good' and 'bad' batteries just by looking at them. When a battery-operated device isn't functioning properly, we first replace the batteries together with new ones. But if the device still doesn't work, together sets of batteries tend to end up in the 'unknown condition' category. Then the next time we want fresh batteries we open a new package to be sure we're getting fully charged ones--the Unknown roll all-around and bump against every other until even completely-charged batteries have gone to waste. Here's a better way for your pocketbook and the setting: neat-to-operate, instantaneous & accurate battery testing together with a sophisticated digital device small enough to carry in shirt pocket, purse or car. Tests virtually any replaceable battery type and size: AAA, AA, C, D, CR123 and other camera batteries, 9 and 12-volt, button-type for watches, hearing aids and remote controls, Alkaline, non-Alkaline and Lithium. 4-1/4"L x 2-1/2"W x 1"H; 2.2 oz.

Customer rating is 5 of 5  much better tester than more expensive models   2010-07-28
By microjoe
I have tried a few testers and I have to say that this model is simple to use and accurate. I can test AAA, AA, C, D batteries as well as watch button batteries and 9 volt batteries. I just keep it in a shoebox with all my batteries. It has paid for itself already, let me explain. My son uses several electronic devices like CD players and remote controls that use batteries. When the power starts failing, he throws out all 4 batteries. I read somewhere that when that happens, it is quite possible that only one or two batteries is failing, so you may be throwing out the other batteries needlessly. Well when i tested batteries he was getting rid of, it turns out to be true. I also found flashlights where one battery was bad and the others were OK. The tester is also the most affordable I have found. Some buyers say that they felt it needed some tension or something to hold the battery, but that is not a problem with me. I would not change a thing.

This tester works fine. I have a different model also sold on Amazon that is far more akward to place the battery in. Not sure why there are negative comments on this one about that. I would reccomend it to anyone.
Customer rating is 5 of 5  Very Useful Tester   2010-07-18
By Norman B (TX)
I've owned this battery tester for about a year, and I'm very impressed with how good it is.
I've been able to get more life out of used batteries because the tester allows you to match battery
strengths for devices that use two or more batteries. It provides a fixed load on the battery being tested, so I believe the readings are reasonably accurate.

As one reviewer pointed out, it may feel clumsy holding the battery and the tester clamp. I quickly got used to it as I had a lot of batteries to test. I'm ordering a few more testers for some friends
that could use a good battery tester.

Customer rating is 4 of 5  Helps with that battery drawer   2010-06-26
By Allen A. Watson (Portland, OR, USA)
For years, I've had a drawer where I would toss the extra batteries when I opened a package and only used some. It was frustrating to try to replace a battery from that drawer and have it not work...and not know, "Is it the battery or the device that is no good?" Finally, a decent battery tester that works for all sizes, and on top of that, it's cheap. Perfect for my needs.
Customer rating is 3 of 5  OK for the money   2010-05-23
By Jim (Arizona Desert)
I've bought four of these to keep in different locations. Three work fine but one requires a little effort to get the battery in just the right spot to get a reading. Can't complain considering the low price. I just ordered another one to replace the bad one.
